Petronet Energy Limited (PEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Petronet LNG Limited (Ranked 51st in the prestigious Fortune India 500 list, 2022 rankings) was incorporated on 26th February 2021 to primarily cater to businesses and to provide ancillary services related to value chain of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). The Company is having its registered office at New Delhi. The authorized share capital of the Company is Rs. Five Hundred Crores.

PEL is also focusing and exploring business opportunities in marketing and distribution of Green Hydrogen, Compressed Biogas (CBG) and renewable energy sectors.

PEL has set up a unit at Puthuvypeen Special Economic Zone (PSEZ), Kochi to provide following ancillary services from its Kochi LNG terminal, Kerala.

  • Gassing up and cooling down (GUCD) services
  • Storage and reloading services
  • LNG bunkering services
  • Marketing and distribution of LNG through trucks

Kochi Terminal, located in Puthuvypeen SEZ (PSEZ), Kochi (Kerala) has a capacity of 5 MMPTA. It is located in an all-weather Port and is well protected from the risk of cyclones and other natural calamities. The terminal is located strategically close to one of the busiest international sea routes, which connects Middle East Gulf and Suez to Singapore and Far East region.

This strategic geographic location of Kochi terminal offers shortest route to one of the busiest international sea routes and provide deeper port for berthing of conventional and Q-flex Size LNG vessels. Kochi terminal is the only terminal in India providing storage, reload and other ancillary services related to LNG.

Dahej terminal is Southeast Asia's first LNG Receiving and Regasification Terminal with capacity of 17.5 MMTPA and two Jetties located at Western India, Gujarat. It is India’s largest and the world’s eighth largest LNG import terminal which meets around 40% of the total gas demand of the country. While the first jetty can handle berthing of up to Q-Flex vessels, the second jetty can handle berthing of up to Q-Max vessels. The terminal is also offering tolling services to Off takers & Bulk customers and supplying LNG through cryogenic trucks.

PEL offers all above-mentioned services as per International norms and at competitive rates.

Petronet LNG Limited (PLL), our parent company was incorporated on April 2nd, 1998, as Joint Venture Company (JVC) with equity participation of 12.5% each from four Oil & Gas Maharatna PSUs viz. Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), GAIL (India) Limited (GAIL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). Presently PLL operates from two terminals in Dahej, Gujarat and Kochi, Kerala.

PLL reported its highest ever turnover of Rs 59,899 Cr. in the FY 2022-23 and reported PBT and PAT of Rs 4,335 Cr. and 3,240 Cr. respectively.

PLL is expanding the capacity of Dahej terminal to 22.5 MMTPA and will commission the two additional tanks in due course. The Company will also be putting up a third Jetty for propane and ethane handling at Dahej. The Company is in process of setting up a third LNG terminal at Gopalpur and a Petrochemicals Complex at Dahej.
